Favorite Memories and Recipes From A Life In Hollywood
by Elinor Donahue with Ken Beck & Jim Clark
Don't let the cookbook designation fool you, this book reads more like an autobiography. Elinor was best known for her work on "Father Know's Best" as Princess (Betty Anderson) as well as for her work on
"The Andy Griffith Show", "Star Trek", "The Odd
Couple", and "Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman". Her career spanned 6 decades beginning in the 1940's as a youngster, and looking through this book feels like a virtual who's who in Hollywood
.
Written by the famous Dominick Dunne, this is a WONDERFUL book showcasing over 200 photos he personally took of the Hollywood elite during the 50's and 60's. He photographed the celebrities (and their children) relaxing at poolside barbecues, eating at the Stork Club and La Scala, gossiping at cozy get-togethers and dancing at the Dunnes' dazzling home.
Gee, what was the Beav really like? Was Wally actually that squeaky-in-his-sneakers clean? Was Eddie Haskell the personification of every parents nightmare? Well Frank Bank is here to tell you everything about life with America's most-loved family, the Cleavers. Frank played Clarence Rutherford, something of a teenage misfit himself. He was always telling other kids, "Don't call me Lumpy," (but of course that is what they called him). Find out about Frank's Leave it to Beaver Days and Other Wild Hollywood Life.

Archie & Edith, Mike & Gloria tells the complete story of "All In The Family," the most widely viewed and perhaps the most
controversial sitcom series in the history of television--the series that dared to take on race, religion, politics, and sex and make us laugh at the same time. Photographs
"Fans of I Love Lucy will be taken with the behind-the-scenes stories."
Castelluccio and Walker's portrait of Vivian Vance, who played the classic TV gal pal Ethel Mertz in I Love Lucy, is a fine new entry in
this bio of a second banana. Albuquerque native Vance was, of course, the perfect foil for Lucille Ball's Lucy Ricardo, and, par for the Hollywood course, Ball early on tried to have her fired. Our plucky heroine persevered not only in the face of Ball's initial disapproval but also against depression, marital trouble, and sundry other ills

This is one of the best Lucy-Desi books ever written. This one of the few books written about the team that is actually accurate and correct.
This book will make you laugh and cry. If you love Lucy and Desi, this is THE book to read. Desilu lets you take a peek into the minds of TV's favorite couple, the making of the world's most loved and successful TV show, and Lucy and Desi's life before and after the show. You may think you know Lucy and Desi, but you don't really know them until you read this book.
Meet the Mertzes is a double biography chronicling the lives of two of America's most popular situation comedy supporting performers. This meticulously researched book explores the personal and professional lives of these beloved performers before, during, and after I Love Lucy, and discusses why they held each other in such contempt. It contains a filmography of each star.
Grown-up child stars turned authors are dying to tell us about their lives after they left TV, yet our interest in them usually stops the minute the screen fades to black. Fortunately, Thibodeaux devotes nearly half his book to his years as Little Ricky on I Love Lucy. Keith was a three-year-old drumming prodigy in the bayous of Louisiana when his father took the family to California, hoping to ride his young son's drumsticks to a career in show business. That's exactly what happened as father and son became fixtures on the Lucy show, one as a gofer, one as an actor. Then it all went bad: divorces (Keith's parents as well as Lucy and Desi); the show's demise; Keith's addiction to drugs.
Wow! What a life Senor Arnaz led. We all love Lucy, but the man who created the most popular sitcom ever often gets overlooked. His book is thorough and eye-opening. If you love Lucy you need to read this book to hear the other side of the story. Although I did not always like how he chose to deal with life, I came away from this book with an enormous respect for the work he did. He was a great musician, producer/director, and businessman. I also believe he loved Lucy to his dying day.
Color photos, nostalgic movie stills, and an equally entertaining text examine the Tinseltown careers of photogenic vehicles like Sean Connery's Bond Aston Martin DB5s and Pierce Brosnan's BMW Z3 Roadster; the '63 "Love Bug" Beetle; the demonic '58 Plymouth Fury from "Christine"; Harrison Ford's '55 Chevy, Suzanne Sommers' T-Bird, and Paul Le Mat's '32 Deuce Coupe in "American Graffiti"; Dick Van Dyke's flying jalopy in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"; the sci-fi vehicles of "Bladerunner"; Mark Hammill's custom 'Vette in the cult classic "Corvette Summer"; and the "Captain America" chopper from "Easy Rider." TV vehicles featured include the '76 Ford Gran Torino from "Starsky and Hutch"; the '69 Dodge Chargers collectively known as the "General Lee" in "The Dukes of Hazzard"; the customized '67 GTO in "The Monkees"; and much more.
This book is a delight for Andy Griffith fans and scholars alike. I have used this book for graduate work, the Mayberry Bible study, and for a reference tool when I am watching a marathon. Brower brings new insights to these old friends and makes the show even more enjoyable.
In this first volume of a projected three-volume series, Browner covers the 79 episodes of "The Andy Griffith Show" that were written by Harvey Bullock, Everett Greenbaum, Bill Idelson, and their partners.
Some shows just get better with age. As The Andy Griffith Show turns forty, the authors of the complete fan guide to the show have updated the book with new information gained from access to the complete shooting scripts of the original episodes.
The Andy Griffith Show remains one of America's most-watched programs, gaining new fans through its widespread syndication,
and conventions. America has embraced the characters of Mayberry---Aunt Bee, Barney Fife, Goober, Opie, and Andy himself---as family members. From Miracle Salves to Kerosene Cucumbers, The Andy Griffith Show has left a lasting impression on our culture, a sweet nostalgic taste for a time gone by.
This special anniversary edition is a must-have for fans of the show.
From urbane chaps in bowler hats to glamorous gals in very tight pants, The Avengers had everything that a TV show needs. For six seasons in the 1960s and two in the 1970s (as The New Avengers with the lusciously mop-topped Joanna Lumley) John Steed and his cohorts used wit, karate, and a healthy dose of good old British spunk to protect the Free World from legions of ingenious villains bent on world domination. The Avengers Companion was originally published in a French edition with the delightful title Chapeau Melon et Bottes de Cuir, and it combines a complete episode guide with exclusive interviews with, and essays by, the cast and creators of the show. One of its most valuable features is the enormous number of photographs--both stills from the show and publicity shots--which capture the visual style of the show. This style, and the uniquely tongue-in-cheek scripts, ensured that the popularity of The Avengers would rapidly reach bona fide cult status. This thorough and well-designed companion belongs on the bookshelf of every fan.
