70’s TV on DVD
The 70''s was a decade of change. TV shows like All in the Family, Good Times, and One Day at Time tried to reflect the modern family and introduce subjects the were previously considered taboo. Programs like Happy Days and M*A*S*H gave us a chance to reminisce about days gone by, albeit with a shovelful of artistic license. The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Julia challenged the 50’s conception of the American woman as just a housewife. The 1960’s gave us Peyton Place, the first primetime soap opera, and paved the way for the lavish primetime dramas of the 70’s like Dynasty, Dallas, and Knott’s Landing, while Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, took a satirical view at the subject of soaps.
